to make a first impression
About Us

During her years in the corporate world, Allie Boutin, Director of Gold Star Manners learned that first impressions really do matter.  With over 15 years of management experience, Allie interviewed candidates for many positions and in many occasions realized some people have ‘all’ the skills and some others only have ‘some’ of the skills.  She knows firsthand that first impressions really do last a lifetime.

Allie is the mother of two boys and she lives with her husband and children in North Andover, Massachusetts.  One day she realized that as her boys got older, some behaviors that may have been cute before were not so cute anymore.  Simply put, the children were not just learning by the adults modeling good manners, they needed a little help understanding the rules of society and why they are important.

Allie points out that one of the most rewarding days of her life was when a colleague met her 5 year old boy and turned to her and said “He is the most polite child I have ever met”.  Daniel had looked straight into the adult’s eyes and had said “Hello.  I’m Daniel, nice to meet you”.  He said this with a cheerful smile on his face.

Allie founded Gold Star Manners to teach children that the true key to success is found in our every day interactions. Allie is passionate about her work and hopes the children that experience Gold Star Manners make a positive impact in society.
